One of the cleanest cabins we have stayed in. Accurate description, good location. You really need a 4x4 in the winter to access. But we were prepared for that.
GREAT CABIN
By Lorna On 02/26/2020
Great cabin - our group loved the space, coziness and game room.
HOUSE WAS PERFECT
By Lesa On 09/10/2019
We headed from the coast for hurricane Dorian and had a beautiful stay in Boone. We rode horseback, hiked, went to Doc's Gem Mine, and had a wonderful day at Grandfather Mountain. Didn't make it to Rock Dimensions but they are some of the nicest people you will find. Definitely will start there next visit! House was perfect for the kids and dogs. Thank you so much!
LOVED THIS PLACE

TOP NOTCH
By Julie On 01/31/2018
Everything about our experience was TOP NOTCH. The cabin was fantastic and there were no disappointments upon arrival, we had a wonderful time! It was just as advertised, clean and a great value for our mini vacation. Blue Ridge Mountain Rentals was not only easy to work with and friendly, they went above and beyond and QUICKLY when one of our daughters left an important medication behind, retrieving it and sending it to us quickly. We will happily rent from them again!
ABSOLUTELY LOVED OUR TIME
By Rebecca On 06/16/2017
Absolutely loved our time at Uncle John's Cabin. Kids loved the air hockey, ping pong & pool tables, darts, & bb hoop (indoor). Adults loved the massage chair (master bedroom) & hot tub (on deck). Nestled up in the mountains seems very secluded, but is quite near Tweetsie, Mystery Hill, Mast General Store, etc. Grocery store only 5-10 minutes away. Kitchen well stocked for cooking/baking. Very clean. Agree with other reviewer...pictures don't do it justice...it is lovely. A must stay if you're a family with kids.
BEAUTIFUL CABIN
By Erik K. On 06/25/2015
We booked a BEAUTIFUL cabin near Boone, NC this past June and absolutely loved it!! I hesitate to mention the specific cabin we rented for fear that all you Yelpers out there will read this review and go and book this hidden gem-and then WE wont be able to return! Ha!! But seriously, if you have a large family, the rental named Uncle Johns Cabin is a winner. With three floors, there is PLENTY of room for everyone. There are three bedrooms in addition to a loft that has a bunk bed. Also, every room has a large plasma flat screen TV along with large flat screen TVs in the family room/den and the game room/basement. Now, about the game room.....this was by far the BEST place for our three boys to hang out. There is a pool table, an air hockey table and a ping pong table. There is also an electronic basketball-shooting game. So cool....SO MUCH TO DO!! The wrap-around deck had us feeling like we were living in a tree house. So beautiful. We LOVED having our morning coffee out on the deck. The cabin is situated on the side of a mountain, but the views are (primarily) accessed from the hiking trail behind the cabin. The trail was a bit overgrown, but our boys made quick work of clearing it so we could access it easier without the thorn bushes. The cabin is just about 10 minutes from Boone, NC. So much to do in Boone....we did a canopy zip line tour on one of our vacation days and loved that. And incidentally we accidentally left our zip drive that had over 120 photos from our zip line canopy tour in the cabins PC computer. Once we realized we had left it behind, we contacted Blue Ridge Mountain Rentals and they were able to get the zip drive from the cabin and mailed it back to us (along with a shirt we left behind-and they laundered the shirt before shipping it!!) And I think it is worth mentioning that there is a golf course at the base of the mountain (three minute drive from cabin) if you enjoy golf. So to wrap this belated review up, the cabin and everyone at Blue Ridge Mountain Rentals were great. We hope to return sometime soon so we can make more memories!!
MADE EVERLASTING MEMORIES
By Shameka And The Extended Griffin Family On 09/08/2014
My family and I traveled from S. Carolina, Georgia and New York and held our first family reunion here the weekend of 9/5-9/8 and it was awesome!!! We thoroughly enjoyed all the cabins that were rented and their amenities. They were in close proximity so it was easy for everyone to visit each other. We definitely had a great time bonding, laughing, and making everlasting memories. One of the cabins had a leak in the bathroom sink but maintenance was contacted and fixed it without hesitation. Ive been to other cabins, but this was the BEST by far!!! - Shameka and the extended Griffin Family 9/5-9/8, 2014 1 Abundant Life, A Positive Outlook, Carolina Charm, and Uncle Johns Cabin
WARM, HOMEY, CLEAN, AND STOCKED
By FlipKey Guests On 10/09/2011
We looked at pictures online but when we got there we were blown away. There were 6 of us (2 teens) and we just couldnt have asked for me. We practically lived down in the gameroom downstairs. I will tell you the pictures dont do this justice. Its warm and homey and super clean and stocked with everything you need. It was also easy to find and located in a great spot. We enjoyed staying here and cant wait to come again.
EXCEEDED OUR EXPECTATIONS
By FlipKey Guests On 01/09/2011
We wanted a place to stay in the mountains that looked like a cabin on the outside, but contained the amenities of a more modern home. Uncle Toms Cabin exceeded our expections!!! The unfinished basement has lots games including ping pong, pool, basketball (carnival style), air hockey, and lots of board games. There are several large screen Tvs throughout the house. We enjoyed the cabin so much that we only left the cabin to go snow tubing at Sugar Mountain which was about 15-20 minutes away, and to see downtown Boone. If you are looking for a place which is nicely appointed, has a open floorplan, and will keep you entertained while not exploring Boone or the surrounding areas, then this is a great place to go!!!
As we stepped onto the porch of Uncle John's Cabin, the scent of pine and the gentle rustle of the surrounding forest immediately set the tone for our stay. The allure of a charming log cabin with three bedrooms for a relaxing getaway is undeniable. But what truly sets this retreat apart from the rest? The answer lies in the seamless blend of modern comforts and rustic charm, creating an inviting atmosphere that beckons you to unwind and create lasting memories.
