The home greets you with a short flight of steps leading to a covered front porch, where rocking chairs and a dining table invite you to relax and take in the serene surroundings. Inside, the updated kitchen and living room provide a welcoming space for gathering. The kitchen features modern amenities and bar seating for four, while the cozy living area boasts a gas fireplace, a large-screen TV, and comfortable seating for unwinding after a day outdoors. A laundry center, neatly tucked into a closet, adds to the home&rsquo;s convenience.<br />

The cabin&rsquo;s thoughtful layout includes two wings, each with a queen bedroom and a full bathroom. One wing also features a twin-over-twin bunk bed, and the other includes a twin bed with a pull-out trundle, making it ideal for families or groups of friends.<br />

With its central location, Watauga River Retreat puts you within easy reach of the High Country&rsquo;s attractions. Appalachian State University is just a 20-minute drive away, while Appalachian Ski, Beech Mountain Ski, and Sugar Ski are each about 35 minutes from the cabin. For a taste of local history and charm, the original Mast General Store and its annex are less than 15 minutes away, as is Over Yonder, a favorite spot for dining.<br />

Additional Notes and Rules:

<li>Pet rent is not included in the quoted price. This home allows one mature with an additional pet rent of $25 per night plus 12.75% tax. Pets other than dogs are not permitted. &nbsp;</li>
<li>4WD/AWD is required year-round for this driveway. It is gravel and uphill with one switch in the middle. In times of heavy snow/ice, chains may also be necessary.</li>
<li>All BRMR homes offer well stocked kitchens with all utensils needed to cook meals. There is also a &quot;starter set&quot; of paper products at the house: a roll of toilet paper per bath, a couple garbage bags, a small vial of dishwashing liquid, a few tablets of dishwasher detergent, some laundry pods, a roll of paper towels, hand soap, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and some makeup remover cloths. There are enough of these items for one night, or maybe two.&nbsp;</li>
<li>Firewood for the outdoor firepit may be purchased with a week&#39;s notice. You receive two wrapped, kiln-dried bundles and a fire starter for $25 plus tax.&nbsp;</li>

<li>Must be at least 25 years old to reserve. This person is required to be one of the persons staying in the property for the reserved dates.&nbsp;</li>
<li>No smoking inside the home. No trace of smoking left outside the home.</li>
<li>Do not leave food or trash outside as it could attract animals.</li>
<li>No parties or gatherings above the posted occupancy allowed. Keep outside noise respectable.</li>
<li>Guest is responsible for any damages caused by intentional (non-accidental) actions.&nbsp;</li>
<li>Host is not responsible for items left in the home.&nbsp;</li>
<li>The driveway is monitored for security. No cameras point towards the home or decks.</li>
<li>Guests returning to Watauga River Retreat may receive a discount of 5% to the room rent, not to be combined with other discounts to the rent.</li>

CANCELLATION POLICY - Bookings canceled 30+ days before arrival will receive a refund of the deposit. Bookings canceled between 15-29 days before arrival will receive a refund of half of the deposit. Bookings canceled within 14 days of arrival are not entitled to a refund unless the reservation dates are rebooked to another guest. All bookings are subject to a $50 cancellation fee.<br />
