There are a ton of things to do when you stay at The Bear Lodge in Maggie Valley, NC - if you care to leave at all! The cabin is a 13-minute drive from Maggie Valley, NC, a busy mountain town that's home to a range of dining and shopping options, as well as the popular Wheels Through Time Museum. Cherokee, NC is 37 minutes away, where you can spend a day exploring Native American culture and catch a show at Harrah's Casino Resort. Get outdoors and take a journey on the Blue Ridge Parkway to discover hiking trails and spectacular waterfalls, walk the shoreline trail at Lake Junaluska (29 min.), or, in the winter, go skiing and snowboarding at Cataloochee Ski Area (24 min). The ride to Asheville is smooth sailing with all-paved access to I-26. The closest groceries are a 30-minute drive away in Waynesville, NC, or a 14-minute drive to the market in Maggie Valley. This Asheville vacation rental is located in Maggie Valley and is approximately 55 minutes from downtown Asheville.

4WD or AWD Required
Often the best views in WNC are the hardest to access. The property you are staying at requires a 4WD or AWD vehicle to access year-round due to the steep gravel driveway. Please ensure that your vehicle is properly equipped and the 4WD/AWD feature is engaged before attempting to access the property. Vehicles that are not equipped with this feature may incur service charges for towing if they get stuck, or for repairs to the driveway necessitated by a 2WD vehicle spinning for traction. Please ensure your vehicle has sufficient clearance as well (i.e. SUV, Truck, or raised sedan). For the extra effort, however, you are rewarded with seclusion, beauty, and a lot of fun just getting there!
Seasonal Gas Fireplaces are not operational between Memorial Day and Labor Day.
Travel Insurance is Highly Recommended. Due to the location of this home, any inclement weather in winter may render it unreachable. We strongly recommend guests consider CSA Travel Insurance for this property as there are no refunds for weather.

Please note that this propertys Non-Refundable Period is 30 days prior to arrival. If your reservation is made within this period, it will be non-refundable from the time of booking. Cancellations are permitted outside of this period, per our vacation rental agreement. We encourage you to consider travel insurance to help protect your vacation investment against the unknown!
