Welcome to Big Cat Mountain House!

Here are some of the features that make this log home so special:

Living Rooms The main level living room has seating for six people. It is open to the adjacent dining room and features a gas fireplace. A flat-screen television is mounted on the wall. The living room downstairs has a pullout sofa, and is a place to relax and unwind. A small game table with two seats could be used as a desk. The lower-level living area also has a TV.

Dining Room The table seats eight comfortably and is extremely comfortable. It is located between the living room, and the sunroom. It is adjacent to the kitchen so it's easy to bring food to the dining table. Loft The loft is home to a pool table, a beverage refrigerator, and a mountain television mounted on the wall. A small table at bar height can seat two people and make a great workstation for those who are so inclined. The loft looks out over the living area and puts you right at eye-level with the statement lighting in the living space. The loft offers a lake and mountain views!

Kitchen Upgraded appliances in the kitchen, including a Keurig coffee maker and a standard auto drip coffee maker. The kitchen offers a beautiful mountain view as well as a small view of a lake.

Bedrooms The main bedroom features a plush, king-sized bed, a large, walk-in wardrobe, and a flatscreen TV. The upper level has a master bedroom with a luxuriously relaxing sitting area and a king-sized bed. On the upper level, off the loft, there is another bedroom that has a king-sized bed. It is spacious and has a luxurious sitting area. It also has an en suite bathroom. The lower level contains two bedrooms: one with a full-over-twin bunk bed and another with a queen. The lower-level deck provides access to the queen bedroom. The queen bedroom has a ceiling-mounted fan, while the twin-over full bunk room has an under-desk fan.

Bathrooms There is only one bathroom in the main floor, which is accessible both from the kitchen and master bedroom. The bathroom has a walk-in shower and a double vanity. It also has a standard bathtub. The upper-level bath is located in the upper-level bedroom. It has a walk-in shower and a lake and mountain view. The lower level bathroom has a single stand up shower that the two lower-level rooms can share.

Laundry Room The laundry room is located on the lower floor and has plenty of space to sort and fold clothes. There is a wash basin for removing stains.

Bonus Rooms Sunroom: 4 rocking chairs with a stunning view of the lake and mountains all year round. Workspace - A desk, lamp and drawers are located in a sunroom nook. This is the perfect place to do some schoolwork or office work.

Grilling porch enclosed. Enjoy the delicious mountain cooking in this luxurious space.

Outdoor Spaces Entering the home, take two steps up the covered porch. It overlooks the parking lot and has a large, comfortable seating area. Ideal for relaxing in the morning or evening with a beverage or waiting on other members of your group. This is the perfect place to curl up and read a book or magazine. A deck on the upper level is just off the sunroom. It has a beautiful view, a table and seating for four. You can descend the stairs to reach the lower deck where there is an outdoor TV and a deck that you can use for walking, talking and taking in the view of the lake and mountains. Take a cooler and other supplies along with you as the walk to Lake is long and steep. There's a beautiful gazebo near the water as well as a floating dock and two paddleboards and two kayaks.

AREA WIDE NOTE: Lake Lure is undergoing a drawdown beginning January 1, 2024 and lasting through the first quarter (March 31, 2024). The lake will be lowered approximately 1 foot per a day until it reaches 12 feet. During this time, infrastructure maintenance, dredging and dam projects will be accelerated. These efforts by the town of Lake Lure could affect the access to the lake or restrict any lake use. Click here for more information. The lake is expected to return to normal levels in mid-late April. We understand that this is an inconvenience but it allows you to enjoy Lake Lure's full beauty during the holiday season and fall. This will not affect smaller lakes in the region, only Lake Lure.

All of our vacation rentals are smoke-free. This home and property does not allow pets. Parking for three vehicles.
