The front porch provides a direct view to Chimney rock, the iconic feature in Chimney State Park. The chimney was featured on the cover of Arthur Frommer's Budget Travel magazine's Sept/Oct 2012. This home is located 2/10 miles away from Chimney rock State Park, 1.7 mile to the Beach at Lake Lure and 20.1 miles from the Tryon International Equestrian Center.

This home is only two blocks away from the park entrance. Around the corner are the restaurants and shops of Chimney rock Village. You can hear the beautiful, trout-filled Rocky Broad from your home. There are many places to fish in the river, and a boardwalk where you can enjoy the beauty.

If you like scenic drives, take the scenic and curvy Alt US-74 Memorial Highway out of Chimney rock Village. This stretch of highway runs through Bat Cave Gerton and Fairview and has 14 hairpin bends. Continue on towards Asheville and you will find the Blue Ridge Parkway, which many people consider to be the most beautiful road in the United States. If you haven't traveled this road, it will be on your bucket list. Norman Reedus, star of The Walking Dead and The Boondock Saints, featured the parkway in a 2016 episode (Appalachia Blue Ridge Parkway Season 1, Episode 3) of his AMC TV show Ride with Norman. Maggie Valley is located just 1.25 hours away from home, five miles from the parkway. It is home to the Wheels Through Time Transportation Museum, which features American motorcycles, memorabilia and a unique array of one-off American cars.

AREA WIDE NOTE: Lake Lure is undergoing a drawdown beginning January 1, 2024 and lasting through the first quarter (March 31, 2024). The lake will be lowered approximately 1 foot a day until it reaches 12 feet. During this time, infrastructure maintenance, dredging and dam projects will be accelerated. These efforts by the town of Lake Lure could affect the access to the lake or restrict any lake use. Click here for more information. The lake is expected to return to normal levels in mid-late April. We understand that this is an inconvenience but it allows you to enjoy Lake Lure's full beauty during the holiday season and fall. This will not affect smaller lakes in the region, only Lake Lure.
