Welcome to Cottage in the Cove!

Important: This property does not provide linens or towels, nor a washer/dryer. The cottage is accessed by a number of stairs, but they are worth it!

You made it! And now, look at the beautiful cottage on the water you're in. Let's take a look around before we make the beds and put out the towels. Look at the view! Let's walk out the backdoor and through the kitchen to the lake. I love to look at it through the windows in my kitchen and living room, but it's even better outside. The single chair under the trees with the view of the lake is a perfect place to sit for someone who enjoys a strong, quiet type of person or one who enjoys coffee with a spoonful reflection. There's not a lot of privacy but it is a really cozy fire pit. This is a great place to stay if you have a lot of activities planned. For example, you may be coming to town to attend a wedding or to go hiking, trail riding, or to Biltmore. The stairs will give you a good workout, but who doesn't want to build their muscles and improve their heart health? Get your circulation moving! Rent a boat, or use the kayaks provided. This is a great place for those who love to spend time on the lake!

Let's check out the inside of the house. The living room has a nice view and an open plan. The kitchen is perfect for cooking some cornbread, beans and greens while watching the sun set. Next, let's head to the bathroom downstairs and then upstairs. Wow, what a beautiful bathroom! The bathroom has been redone to match the rest of the home and has a contemporary feel. It's not that the house is damp, but to protect the lakefront home against too much moisture. You don't need to worry about it. It's quiet. Let's climb the spiral staircase to get upstairs. You can also go upstairs by entering an upper door on the outside, but this time let's try this route. You may find yourself using it every time. The upstairs is like a cute cottage. Who's sleeping in the daybed? If not, then I'd like to read a good book and nap there! The upstairs bedroom has a lovely feel to it. You can access the modern half-bathroom from the daybed sleeping area or the bedroom. Enjoy your stay and don't miss adding something to the guest book!

AREA WIDE NOTE: Lake Lure is undergoing a drawdown beginning January 1, 2024 and lasting through the first quarter (March 31, 2024). The lake will be lowered approximately 1 foot per a day until it reaches 12 feet. During this time, infrastructure maintenance, dredging and dam projects will be accelerated. These efforts by the town of Lake Lure could affect the access to the lake or restrict any lake use. Click here for more information. The lake is expected to return to normal levels in mid-late April. We understand that this is an inconvenience but it allows you to enjoy Lake Lure's full beauty during the holiday season and fall. This will not affect smaller lakes in the region, only Lake Lure.

All of our vacation rentals are smoke-free. Check-in is at 4:00 pm local time, or any time after. Check-out is at 10:00 a.m. local or earlier.
