This lovely home is situated in the community of North Highland Farms, at Lake Adger. It is just minutes away from Lake Lure and Chimney rock State Park. This home is ideal for bringing your bike. With its paved road and beautiful natural surroundings, you can enjoy miles of easy riding to enjoy the fresh mountain air and scenery. Four-legged family pets are welcome too! This home is located 12.7 miles away from the Tryon International Equestrian Center, 13 miles away from the beach in Lake Lure and 14.3 miles away from Chimney rock State Park.

You are welcome to bring along your boat. Please contact us for information on size restrictions, regulations, etc. Lake Adger is a public access area, and is only a half mile from the house. The lake has a surface area of 438 acres and pristine shorelines for 14 miles. It is a great place to fish. The access site for Lake Lure is approximately half a mile from your home. (Lake Lure needs a visitor permit).

Mountain ComfortThis beautiful home is perfect for a relaxing getaway or a long weekend. It offers all the comforts that you would expect. The main floor has a fully functional kitchen with a microwave, dishwasher, refrigerator, range and coffee maker. The main floor has a stone fireplace for romantic or cool evenings. It also has a washer/dryer and a master bedroom with a queen-sized bed and a full bathroom with double vanity, jetted tub, and a washer/dryer.

You will find 2 bedrooms upstairs, 1 with a queen-size bed and the other with two twin-size beds. Shelton's Way has a basement that is perfect for hobbies, exercise, and other activities. Enjoy the natural surroundings. Play on Lake Adger or relax on the open deck or screened porch for peace and tranquility.

Bring your boat with you (contact us to find out about size restrictions, regulations, etc.). The Lake Adger public site is less than one mile away. The lake is 400 acres in size, has great fishing and is only 11-12 mile from Lake Lure.

This home is located 12.7 miles away from the Tryon International Equestrian Center, 13 miles away from the beach of Lake Lure and 14.3 miles away from Chimney rock State Park.

The quaint village of Tryon is only 15 minutes away, located at the foot of the Blue Ridge Mountains. It is home to the Tyron International Equestrian Center as well as wineries, golf and unique shops. It is also the birthplace of legendary Jazz singer, pianist and songwriter Nina Simone. In her honor, a statue and plaza were built in the town.

Nearby are several excellent golf courses, including Apple Valley Golf Course and Bald Mountain Golf Course. Etowah Valley Country Club & Golf Resort was rated by Golf Digest as one of the 50 best golf destinations in the US.

If you like scenic drives, take Alt 74 out of Lake Lure (the curvy Memorial Highway), through Chimney rock Village, Bat Cave and Gerton. Then, continue on to Asheville, where you will find the Blue Ridge Parkway, which many people consider the most beautiful road in the United States. This is a road you should add to your bucket-list if you haven't traveled it yet.

This home is only 15 minutes away from Bat Cave, 35 from Hendersonville, 50 from Asheville and 2 hours from Charlotte in North Carolina. Pisgah National Forest, less than an hour from Lake Lure, has over 500,000 protected acres of forest. DuPont State Recreational Forest is also nearby (1.25 hours away from Lake Lure), with over 10,000 acres. These forests offer hundreds of miles of hiking and biking trails, as well as horseback riding, beautiful waterfalls, mountaintop views, and more. The Pisgah Forest is a great place to visit if you or your children are fans The Hunger Games. A scene with Katniss, Gale and other characters was filmed there. A few small, but significant scenes have also been filmed in the DuPont State Recreative Forest.

AREA WIDE NOTE: Lake Lure is undergoing a drawdown beginning January 1, 2024 and lasting through the first quarter (March 31, 2024). The lake will be lowered approximately 1 foot per a day until it reaches 12 feet. During this time, infrastructure maintenance, dredging and dam projects will be accelerated. These efforts by the town of Lake Lure could affect the access to the lake or restrict any lake use. Click here for more information. The lake is expected to return to normal levels in mid-late April. We understand that this is an inconvenience but it allows you to enjoy Lake Lure's full beauty during the holiday season and fall. This will not affect smaller lakes in the region, only Lake Lure.

All of our vacation rentals are smoke-free. This home welcomes dogs (up to 2). To avoid additional charges, guests are required to clean after their pets. Parking for four (4) vehicles.Check-in is at 4:00 pm local time or later. Check-out is at 10:00 am local time.
