This wonderful southern award winning Beaufort tradition features local SHRIMP and celebrates local shrimp and the local shrimping industry! Thousands come to the Beaufort Shrimp Festival held on the first Friday & Saturday in October. Enjoy restaurants competing against each other to determine who has the BEST shrimp recipe. Live entertainment and concerts, a Saturday morning 5K run, arts and crafts vendors and an educational fair dedicated to highlighting the ecology of the coastal waterways. We recommend you also visit nearby Hunting Island State Park.
