Hungry Trout Resort & Lodging Accommodations at the Hungry Trout include quiet, spacious and newly decorated rooms containing all the amenities one would expect in the Lake Placid area at a fraction of the price. Each of our 22 guest rooms offer private bathrooms, cable TV, complimentary WiFi, in-room coffee, direct dial phones, entrance door parking, refrigerators, hair dryers individual air-conditioning and heating, and romantic, picture window views of nearby Whiteface Mountain directly behind our property. Kitchenette Suite #1 Sleeps 7. Main room has a queen size bed, full bath, apartment size kitchenette to include double sink, two stove-top burners, microwave, toaster, refrigerator, coffee maker, all utensils and dishware. Attached bedroom has 2 queen size beds, one with above single bunk bed. Both rooms have cable television. Kitchenette Suite #6 Sleeps five. Main room has a queen size bed. Bathroom with sink and lavatory, apartment size kitchenette to include a double sink, two stove top burners, microwave, toaster refrigerator, coffee maker, all utensils and dishware, Attached bedroom has double bed and single bed, Bathroom has sink, lavatory, bath and shower. Standard King Room - Rooms 2- 5. Sleeps two. Full bath, king size platform bed,… Deluxe King Room - Rooms 8 and 14. ( #14 connects with #12, a deluxe room with two queen beds). Sleeps two. Vacation Rental Policies
Deposit(s)*A deposit of one night\'s room rate is required on all reservations. In event of a cancellation, notice must be received 10 days prior to your scheduled arrival date and a ten dollar administative fee will be imposed. If your notice is received after the cancellation date, your deposit will be forfeited unless we are able to re-rent your accommodation at the quoted rate.

HIGH PEAKS HIKING
The \"Wild Forrest Flume Trail System\" ... is comprised of 8 miles of public multi-use use trails open to hiking. The Flume Knob is a 4-mile round trip hike that offers excellent views of Wilmington and the Jay Range. This trail system also connects to Esther and Whiteface Mountain.
The trailhead for this trail system is 100 ft away from our resort, allowing for an early morning bike ride, or a full day hike capable of two, 46’er High Peaks.
- Mountain Biking
Wilmington is a dirt-lovers dream. The Hungry Trout is central to an extensive network of maintained trails, and your choice of trailheads. Cross Country Single track, lift assisted downhill, dirt jumps and pump tracks, or just cruising local remote roads. The choice is yours

- Beaver Brook Trail System
The Beaver Brook Trail system is about 7 miles of trails, of public multi-use trails open to mountain biking. This trail system offers excellent riding with shorter technical connector trails and smooth cruising trails through sparse forest. The Beaver Brook Trailhead is only a 10-minute warm-up ride from the H.T.
- Flume Trail System
“The ‘Wild Forrest Flume Trail System’ is your backdoor. These trails consist of 8 miles of public use, trails open to mountain biking and maintained by the Bark Eaters Trail Alliance (BETA), a volunteer based organization. This trail system also connects to Whiteface Mountain offering a return route back to your motel room after a long day of lift access, or XC biking. The trailhead for this trail system is 100 ft away from our resort, allowing for an early morning warm up - ride, or a full day cruise.
Whiteface Mountain Resort
Whiteface Mountain has quickly become a go-to biking destination in the Northeast. With 27 diverse trails, you are able to find plenty of trails that match any ability level. Whiteface offers gondola assisted, expert only trails, cross country trails, shorter shuttle assisted loops, and access to the Flume Trail System. All of this accessible via a sweet single track trail, or a .5 mile drive to Whiteface Mtn.

Road Biking
Many of the main roads in our area have excellent riding surfaces with wide shoulders. From your doorstep, loops from 5-100 miles meander through old farmland and out of the way roads with very little traffic and very scenic views. Many cyclists tell us that this area is one of the most beautiful areas for riding they have visited. We are also located directly on the biking loop for ‘Ironman Lake Placid’, which allows for race enthusiasts to enjoy the route from their front door.
