Testimonials

Lost River Retreat is a TREAT
by Christopher on 05/19/2021
Our family vacation that included 7 adults at Lost River Retreat was AMAZING. The proximity to so many outdoor adventures was a welcome change to crowded hotels, campsites or RV parks. The bedroom were all situated nicely to allow us to have our personal space. The Kitchen was equipped with everything we needed to cook practically every night. The hot tub was used every night for a nice relaxing end to the day and the sunsets and sunrises were stunning. Well done on this cabin and location!

Amazing stay!
by Kayla on 01/18/2021
We recently stayed with 11 people at this cabin! It was amazing it's perfect for big groups every couple had their own space & all of the spaces were clean & very well taken care of. We loved being able to snowmobile right from the cabin & it provided plenty of space for our vehicles & trailers. We would definitely book this cabin again in the future.

Great Cabin!
by Sherrie on 08/10/2020
We enjoyed staying at the Lost River Retreat as a family. Close to Yellowstone, restaurants, and other great activities. Clean and the hot tub and foosball was what we looked forward to doing after a day of exploring. Only complaint is that the AC was not working while we were there, but we made the fans and open window work.

by Joyce on 06/17/2019
Part of our family stayed in Lost River Retreat. I visited the cabin one evening. I hope everything was clean and in good order when they left.

Beautiful
by Nita on 03/03/2019
The views were amazing . We have never been this far away from where we like to ride before. It is a ways out but sooo beautiful out there. The cabin is comfy clean and roomy. Hot tub is a nice extra. Hooks in the garage would be a good idea for snow gear... oh well. Need to change light bulbs and fire detectors chirping is annoying but these are little things. Would stay again for sure. Thanks to

Alexa for being so nice to work with.
by Constance on 08/28/2018
We had a wonderful visit. The cabin is very roomy and easily accommodated our party of eight adults and three children quite comfortably. We ate all our meals at the cabin and the kitchen had everything we needed to prepare meals and more than adequate storage for our food. The only disappointment was the missing fire pit but we understood the fire situation. It would have been nice to know beforehand as we did bring things for S'mores. The only discomfort we experienced was the lack of bedside tables and lamps in some of the bedrooms. All in all, we'd certainly look forward to spending more time there. It was a wonderful relaxing experience.

Lost River retreat made our vacation!
by Nancy on 07/11/2018
The location was wonderful- we rode horses at Eagle River Ranch which was right up the road. The house is beautiful and well maintained. The hot tub and fire pit were welcome additions to our log cabin stay. There are some swallows who have built their nests at the peak of the roof on the front porch which made eating outside a little messy. If this were addressed it would make the cabin 100%, however, we really didn't mind them.

House was nice and we had a great vacation.

Highest Recommendation!
by Angie on 10/23/2016
We had everything we needed for a relaxing and stress free stay. Communication with the owner was great! Plenty of linens, dishes, seating... for 15 people. Very clean!! We used this as our home base for going into Yellowstone. The drive to the park entrance was just over 30 minutes and worked out very well. Thanks!

Haworth Family Reunion
by The Haworth Family on 08/26/2016
We had so much fun here! The cabin was very comfortable and it felt like home. Plenty of room, good layout for bedrooms and main areas. We enjoyed having plenty of towels and dishes to accommodate the clan. The decor was so rustic and artsy too - really liked it. All had fun in the hot tub. Thanks for providing a great place for us to enjoy the area of fishing, hiking and West Yellowstone. A keeper for our next trip to the area! The Haworth Family

Such a great experience
by Verlin C. on 06/23/2016
My first time to Island Park/Yellowstone and staying at the Lost River Retreat was a perfect fit. This was a trip/family reunion, 8 adults and 7 children. Never did we feel like there wasn’t plenty of room. Kitchen space is great, beds are really nice and comfortable, common spaces are really big, the wrap around porch/grandchildren race track is large and has a great view from any point, bathrooms are large. The whole cabin is well equipped from kitchen needs, extra bedding, very nice towel’s, washer and dryer, hair dryer, TV’s , DVD/VHS & cable, foosball & hockey games, & outdoor grill. Garage is spacious and has two picnic tables for deck dinning. There is a fire pit and hot tub but we just didn’t get time to use them .. but I will say the hot tub looked well maintained and very nice. Our family loved the time we spent here .. the view of the stars is amazing. Would recommend this property to anyone planning to stay in the area. Management and owners are great to work with … this was an overall really nice experience. Having to take your garbage to the dump each day was no big deal, easy, and the staff there even were pleasant. The only thing I would have liked to see/have had was dressers in each room. But not having them, living out of suitcases was not terrible, closets are huge. I can say without hesitation the thing I disliked most is that we couldn’t stay longer.

Enjoyed our stay!

snowmobile trip
by Snomobile Trip on 02/11/2016
Lost River Retreat What a beautiful 'cabin', more like mansion! Stayed here a week during July. Weather was warm. We rafted Henry's fork of the Snake River. It was so fun! The beauty of nature surrounding this cabin is fantastic! We saw moose, osprey, and hawks. We hiked all over the area near the cabin, down to the river, and lake. We took a short drive to see incredible waterfalls and another day, took the short 30 minute drive into Yellowstone National Park. Everything we could imagine and possibly need was provided in the cabin, except for food of course. One of the weekends there was a craft fair of local artists. Great nature paintings and crafts of many kinds, prices were very reasonable. You should stay here and visit, you won't be disappointed. Thanks for letting us stay and use your beautiful home!

Wild Frogs
by Wild Frogs on 07/19/2015
It is absolutely wonderful. We saw moose and deer on the property. What a wonderful way to start the day. Lots of room to park a trailer for your toys. We rode into Yellowstone on our motorcycles both days. The cabin is beautiful and the beds are of high quality. The owner was excellent to work with. Very helpful and willing to answer all of our questions. Would recommend this to anyone heading over to the area.

The Cabin was Perfect!
by 5 ladies getaway on 07/15/2015
Our trip to Island Park was for a reunion of long time friends. The first evening we arrived an awesome thunderstorm blew through from over the mountains afterwards leaving a spectacular view of a double rainbow. The"5 Ladies" thoroughly enjoyed the cabin setting, the awe of the extreme diverse natural wonders unique to the area, as well as water rafting, seeing the historic sites, and last but not least YELLOWSTONE. The cabin was perfect for our rest and relaxation between adventures. Thank you for having very comfy beds, plenty of towels, and the convenience of a washer and dryer. Also, the kitchen was equipped with good pots and pans, plenty of silverware, and an assortment of spices. Thank you for sharing this surreal vacation experience.

Two thumbs up
by Two thumbs up on 07/11/2015
We arrived late at night and owner was so kind to provide detailed instructions to help us get to our destination. The cabin was spacious and the night time sky was so attractive. Two thumbs up!

Parent's 50th Wedding Anniversary Celebration
by Family Celebration on 06/29/2015
My brothers and I wanted to provide a place for all of our families to be together to help our parents celebrate 50 years of marriage. The cabin was our perfect choice. The moment we arrived we felt right at home. There was plenty of room for our party of 14 people. We laughed and created memories that will last a lifetime. Thank you so much for this gift that will be in our hearts for good.
