Overlooking Northwest Harbor on Deer Isle, this oceanfront estate has 4 bedrooms and 2 full/split bathrooms. The setting for this very private cottage is unparalleled, on more than five acres with over 300 feet of shoreline and expansive gardens. This charming home was built by Richard Myrick as his summer residence about 25 years ago and features beautiful hardwood floors throughout and spectacular views from every room.
The first floor includes two bedrooms, one with a king bed (which can be converted to two twins), and one with two twin beds There is also a split bathroom with shower.Along with a fully-equipped kitchen and dining area overlooking the water, there is a living room with fireplace, a writers den/ library and a screened sun porch. Upstairs is the master bedroom with a king bed and fireplace and the owner's former art studio with a queen bed and large arched window offering expansive views of the water. The upstairs also includes a split bath with a separate shower and bathtub.
Outside there are generous decks and plenty of seating where the beautiful views can be enjoyed with your morning coffee or evening cocktails. The extensive garden includes a quiet gazebo and is fun to explore or take a walk along the shoreline and start a collection of unusual stones, sea glass and shells.
Charter a boat and explore Penobscot Bay or discover the local area, including Stonington, Blue Hill and Bar Harbor. Back at home, enjoy a lobster dinner on the deck while watching the sunset over Northwest Harbor, or treat yourselves to dinner at any one of the nearby fine dining options.
