Crested Butte Mountain Resort Area Colorado

Crested Butte Mountain Resort is an adventure ski resort that has become an all season vacation destination.  The resort is located in Mt. Crested Butte, Colorado, just 3 miles from the town of Crested Butte. Skiers and snowboarders will enjoy over 1,100 acres of trails ranging from beginner to expert.  Crested Butte Mountain Resort is surrounded by more than 1 Million Acres of National Forest.  This area of Colorado consists of a ski resort, several towns, the Gunnison National Forest, and the Elk Mountain Range.  The primary towns are Crested Butte and Mt. Crested Butte.

Crested Butte Mountain Resort offers exceptional Colorado skiing and snowboarding. Crested Butte Mountain Resort is an adventure ski destination. It has groomed trails for every level skier from blue and green trails to advanced trails to the extreme of the North Face and Headwall. The mountain also features three slopeside restaurants accessible via lift. Crested Butte is known as a place where anyone can find a challenging ski run - whether starting in the resort’s Ski program, skiing intermediate bowls and glades, or challenging the double diamond Extreme Limits.

The Crested Butte Mountain Resort offers over 1,100 acres on 121 trails accessed by 16 chair lifts, including 4 high speed quad chairs.  These lifts can be used in the summer time or the winter time. 

The lifts in the summertime, such as the Red Lady Express and the Silver Queen lifts offers incredible views of the surrounding mountains. Ride the lifts to explore the mountian, hike down the mountain,  or with your bike to experience the thrill of the downhill evolution bike park.  

Summer zip line tours are an exciting mountain adventure, with 5 zip lines ranging from 120 – 400 feet. The adventure park offers activities for the whole family. Mini golf, bungee trampolines, rock climbing and the Coke Zero Gravity Bag Jump are some of the exciting activities Crested Butte Mountain Resort adventure park offers.

Crested Butte Mountain Resort offers guides for fishing, jeep tours, horseback riding, rafting, and hiking.  Weddings, Conferences, and Meetings can be held at the Mountaineer Conference Center in Mt. Crested Butte accommodates groups ranging in size from 20 to 500 people. The Grand Ballroom can be reserved to host wedding receptions, meetings, and other group events.

However, don’t forget about the lifts in the winter!  Crested Butte Mountain Resort is known for offering diverse and difficult terrain, the mountain is considered one of the birthplaces of freeskiing. 

The terrain off the Headwall lift into the Teocalli Bowl area, the expansions add additional expert terrain to an already entertaining mix. There is also a new intermediate terrain park with new and expanded features in the existing DC Terrain Park.

The Resort is home to the U.S. Extreme Freeskiing Championship ....the country’s best and boldest skiers and snowboarders gather in Crested Butte every February for a national extreme skiing and snowboarding competition. It’s an event not to be missed!
